Defence & Security

Shoft has been involved in defence projects for over 20 years. In 2013 Shoft Shipyard was awarded the Industrial License for construction of warships. In 2018 License enhanced to cover modular construction of Destroyers, Frigates and Submarine segment and outfit work.

The Torpedo Launch and Recovery Vessel (TLRV), INS ASTRADHARINI (Pennant no: A61), was the fist privately built Naval vessel with weapon outfit and commisioned into the Navy in 2015. 
 
The catamaran hull vessel was contracted by Naval Science and Technological Laboratory (NSTL, DRDO). Indegeniously designed to be constructed and fitted with heavy weight and light weight Torpedo Launchers. In 2018, SHOFT incorporated structural and other associated interfaces for fitment of Swimout torpedo launchers
 
 
Our other contributions to the defence sector are;
 
 
Feed Water Barge for Indian Navy
 
 
An Important yard craft to serve Navy’s Aircraft Carriers. Fitted with stainless steel tanks for carrying feed water for boilers.
Auxiliary Vessels for Coast Guard

 
4 nos Auxiliary Vessels for Indian Coast Guard for supplying fuel and fresh water to Coast Guard vessels at various Locations. 
Modular block construction of Destroyers/Frigates
 
 
Contracted for modular construction of blocks weighing up to 250 T in progress. Dedicated heavy deck loading vessel " HDC Albatross" constructed and operated for transportation of blocks.
 
 
 
Ammunition Barges for Indian Navy
 
 
Six barges serving Naval Armament Department, Mumbai for transportation of ammunition from storage centres to warships.
Naval Offshore Patrol Vessel for Indian Navy
 
 
Sub-contracted by Goa Shipyard Ltd for entire hull construction  up to main deck and hull outfit. 
 
Offshore Patrol Vessels for Coast Guard
 

 

Sub-contracted by Goa Shipyard Ltd for entire hull construction  up to main deck, underwater fittings, installation of machinery and piping.

 

 

 Submarine related work;

 

  • From 2004 to 2013 involved in the outfitting of critical compartments 7 & 8 of India’s first indigenous nuclear sub-marine as sub-contractor to L&T
  • From 2007 to 2009 complete renewal of Bridge Fin, Outer casing, Rudders & Sonar Dome during medium refit of INS Shankul & Shalki at MDL
  • Since 2009 following jobs for P75 Scorpene Project
    • Fabrication of rudder fin stabilizer blocks
    • Fabrication of Cradles for diesel, electrical ventilation & accommodation
    • Fabrication of tanks, bulkheads and decks, aft frame work & stanchions
    • CNC cutting of HLES/Non-HLES, aluminium and SS plates
    • Assembly and Installation of STG components and TLT bow shutter doors
    • Fabrication, Installation and pressure testing of piping works onboard
