Commenced own shipbuilding activity.

Construction and delivery of 21 Vessels, comprising of Ore Carriers, MUCs, Tugs, OPV & NOPV Hulls, OSVs, Dredger Support Barges, Deck Loading barges, etc.,
Presently 6 Vessels on building berth are under construction all scheduled for launching by end 2010.
Build Capacity and utilization enhanced for building 9 – 12 vessels, including oversized vessels.

ABOUT US
Shoft has earned a unique and dynamic position in the Indian shipbuilding industry in the last two and a half decades. It is the only medium sized ship construction company executing multiple projects in multiple locations simultaneously, with delivery and quality assured.
Now with Shoft’s own shipyard building sophisticated vessels, these dynamics become even stronger.
Ship outfit
The Company was originally launched with modest ambitions of supplying ship outfitting items (the name Shoft is derived from Ship Outfit). However within months the focus shifted to the broader spectrum of shipbuilding. Several medium size shipyards in the west coast of India encouraged and invited Shoft to undertake execution of new construction projects on their behalf and at their site.

Team
Shoft is steered by Naval Architects and supported by highly experienced technical
experts.
Sahay Raj, the main promoter, and Arindam Ganguli are both Naval Architects from
IIT Kharagpur (graduating in 1979 and 1970 respectively) and have extensive, varied international exposure in shipbuilding and ship repair.
D J Britto, Mechanical Engineer with over 20 years industry experience specializes in high tech engineering projects and oversees quality control issues.
Srinath Mandava, shipbuilder, Naval Architect and ex-DNV Surveyor, has recently joined the team, strengthening Shoft’s project management capability.
Ram Garg, who has had a long innings with one of India’s premier shipyards, gives Shoft the benefit of mature marketing experience.
Quality engineering and structural fabrication support comes from industry stalwarts
Joachim Agera and Ravi Narang.
Finances and Accounts controlled by CFO K Ramaseshan, who is also an FCA with more than 30 years of Managerial experience in various industries including over 10 years at Banks and finance companies abroad
Approach
The growth of the company can be attributed to a hands-on approach of taking care of small and seemingly insignificant details, right from technical excellence to employee relations, consolidation of resources and anticipation of customer expectations. Though Shoft has an ever-growing list of customers, and engages at a time as many as 900 workers across the West coast of India, the culture of attention to nuts and bolts is maintained throughout.
